SPEAKER OF ARMENIAN PARLIAMENT INTENDS TO PERSONALLY PARTICIPATE IN SUMMER SESSION OF PACE

ArmInfo. Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly and the Armenian
Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe
will participate in the summer session of PACE, a source in parliament
told ArmInfo correspondent.
To recall, the plenary session of PACE will start on June 26. The
issue on Armenia will be discussed at the session. On June 5 the PACE
Monitoring Committee held a sitting in Paris, during which PACE Co-
Rapporteurs for Armenia Georges Colombier and John Prescott presented
a report on the situation in Armenia. The Co-Rapporteurs intend to
visit Armenia on June 15. To recall, Speaker of Armenian Parliament
Hovik Abrahamyan addressed a letter to the delegations of PACE member
countries with a request not to vote against Armenia as early as at
the winter session of PACE when there were fears that Armenia would
be deprived of the voting right during the next sessions.
