VIENNA, JUNE 10, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. "War of Nagorno
Karabakh" book's (Der Krieg um BergKarabach) launching was held at
the Military Academy of Austria on May 28.
The book, which is a collection of different writers' articles,
is the result of several conferences and seminars on the topic of
crisis and conflict settlement in the Caucasus within the framework
of the program held by the International Institute of Security Policy
and Liberal Policy of Austrian Defence Ministry. The collection has
been edited by Doctor Erich Reiter.
The Armenian, Azeri and Russian views about the conflict of Nagorno
Karabakh are presented in the first section of the book. The articles
of the other parts of the book are dedicated to the role of Turkey
and Russia in the region, the factor of power-generating materials,
geographical aspects, Iranian and Turkish politics, the role of Turkey
and Russia in the Near East, etc. The last part is dedicated to EU
policy in the South Caucasus. German-based political scientist Ashot
Manucharian has presented the Armenian veiws in the collection.
The director of Austrian Defence Ministry Security Policy Major-General
Johann Pucher opened the event. RA Ambassador Ashot Hovakimian made
a speech during the launching.
