Baku. Victoria Dementyeva - APA. "I hope the progress will be made
in the solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict soon", US Assistant
Secretary of State Philip Gordon told journalists on his arrival at
the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku, APA reports.
Gordon said the problem should be solved through the negotiations
and added that there was progress in the process and they focused
attention on that and participated in the settlement process. "The
common understanding and basic principles are important for the
conflict solution".
The US official said the solution to the conflict would create historic
opportunities in the region.
Gordon said there was uncertainty with the OSCE Minsk Group summit. "We
support any contact and dialogue between the parts. I hope we will
achieve the progress soon".
