ANTIMONOPOLY COMMISSION STUDYING SITUATION ON ARMENIAN PETROL MARKET

    /ARKA/
    June 15, 2009
    YEREVAN

At its special sitting today the RA Commission for Protection of
Economic Competition initiated proceedings on the petrol market.

Press Secretary Armine Udumyan reported that monitoring conducted
by the Commission showed that the City Petrol Service (CPS) Company
has raised its petrol prices by 20 AMD. This is third rise over the
last month. Thus, the price for one linter of Premium reached 370
AMD. Fears of further rise in petrol prices are forming on the market.

Udumyan pointed out that on June 10 the company informed the Commission
that it terminated its activities on April 1. Since that date it is
City Petrol Group that has been importing petrol to Armenia. However,
the CPS was announced winner of a Government-held contest for petrol
supply in the 3rd quarter of 2009.

Another dominant economic entity, Flash Company, has not changed its
petrol prices. As regards the previous rise, it fits the developments
    on the world market.

The Commission continues studying the situation on the Armenian petrol
    market.
