/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Armenians in Syria are full-fledged citizens of
the country, Syrian President said.
"We should use this potential for development of relations between
our states," Bashar Al-Assad said opening Armenian-Syrian business
forum in Yerevan today.
He said relevant legal basis should be formed and long-term projects
implemented to further economic cooperation.
"In a meeting with the Armenian President, we also referred to the
Armenian-Turkish relations, normalization of which will be favorable
for the entire region. Besides, construction of Armenia-Iran railroad
will offer an outlet to the Persian Gulf and help development of
relations with Arab world," Mr. Al-Assad said.
Armenia and Syria are geographically favorable for oil and gas transit,
so all regional conflicts should be resolved peacefully to secure
entrepreneurship between the countries," he said.
The Syrian President also said that possibilities to simplify visa
system for businessmen and tourists were discussed.
