national interests

Israeli President Shimon Peres' visit to Baku in late June will
advance Azerbaijan's and Israel's national interests, Israeli
ambassador to Azerbaijan Arthur Lenk said.
"The important is that why Israeli president decided to visit
Azerbaijan, with whom he is going to meet and what about to talk. It
will advance national interests of Azerbaijan and Israel," ambassador
told journalists after a seminar at the strategic research center. "I
believe Shimon Peres will achieve his goal by his visit."
During round table discussions Lenk confirmed that President Peres'
visit to Baku will take place on June 28-29.
Ambassador said documents will be signed in a wide range of
fields. The important is not what documents will be signed, but
important is the dialogue between Azerbaijani and Israeli nations.
"The important thing is not that what we will sign documents on
education, medicine, etc. This is only a piece of paper," Lenk
said. "What is important is that the Israelis and the Azerbaijanis
speak with each other and discuss areas of mutual interest."
Ministers of energy, trade and science of Israel will arrive in Baku
together with the President. A seminar on trade will be held as a part
of the visit.
