/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Armenian-Turkish rapprochement process is frozen,
Head of Hay Dat Bureau Kiro Manoyan told a news conference in Yerevan.
"Even after conclusion of road agreement between RA and Turkish Foreign
Ministries on Apr. 22, Ankara keeps setting NKR conflict settlement as
a precondition for establishing diplomatic relations with Yerevan. In
fact, Turkey decided to freeze the process and it succeeded in doing
so," Kiro Manoyan emphasized. According to Kiro Manoyan, by starting
negotiations with Turkey, Armenia became vulnerable and subject
to pressure. He emphasized the statement of Assistant Secretary of
State for Europe and Eurasian Affairs, Philip Gordon, on creation of
Armenian -Turkish historians' committee, stressing that the second
precondition set by Turkey is being fulfilled here.
"A proposal to create historians' committee has been initiated by
Turkey several years ago, aiming to weaken international process
of Armenian Genocide recognition. Based on current situation, aRF
Dashnaktsutyun has already announced its position on the necessity
for official Yerevan to suspend Armenian-Turkish negotiations,"
Kiro Manoyan said.
