INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE 'ARMENIA AT CROSSROAD OF COMMUNICATIONS' GETS UNDERWAY IN ARMENIAN RESORT TOWN OF TSAKHKADZOR

ArmInfo. International conference 'Armenia at crossroad of
communications' has got underway in Armenian resort town of
Tsakhkadzor. The event organizer is the Eurasian Studies Institute
Development Fund, Russian commercial organization in cooperation with
the Yerean State University Center for Culture and Civilization.
ArmInfo correspondent to Tsakhkadzor reported that representatives of
government, business communities, experts and political scientists
rom Armenia, Russia, Abkhazia, Georgia, Turkey, and South Ossetia
are participating in the event. 'Unfortunately, our colleagues from
Azerbaijan refused to arrive as can be clearly understood. As regards
our Iranian colleagues, they could not arrive because of the latest
developments in that country', said David Hovhannissyan, Head of the
YSU Center for Culture and Civilization.
The conference covers such topics as Armenia's involvement into the
process of inter-regional economic cooperation, certain aspects of
the Karabakh conflict, the strategic nature of relations between
Armenia and Russia as well as the reason of upgrading Armenia's
involvement into the exiting and planned international communications
projects. The participants in the conference will sign a communique
after the conference.
