MIHRAN DABAG AWARDED GERMAN SERVICE CROSS ORDER

BOCHUM, JUNE 25, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. The German Service
Cross order was awarded at a solemn ceremony to professor Mihran
Dabaghian, the founder of the Institute for Diaspora and Genocide
Studies organization in the city of Bochum, Germany, on behalf of
the President of Germany Horst Kohler on June 18. The professor
was honoured with that order equivalent to a knightly one for his
scientific works.
Accoring to the Marmara daily of Istanbul, Mihran Dabag was born
in 1944, in Diarbekir. He studied philosophy, history, sociology,
political sciences at Bochum and Bonn Universities. The institute
founded by him acts for 15 years under state sponsorship and works
at study of such themes like massacre, mentality of Ittihat Turks,
collective memory, etc. Dabag was awarded Franz Werfel First Award
in 2003.
