/PanARMENIAN.Net/ New Iran-Armenia oil pipeline construction
could launch in 2009. According to the project, the republic which
does not have its own raw product supplies could receive up to 8
000 tons of oil products daily, which could allow to decrease in
transportation expenditures and internal market prices. The new
project's implementation will allow alternative supply of petrol and
diesel fuel to Armenia.
Recently Iran-Armenia gas pipeline has been put into operation, which
allowed the import of around 7 million cubic meters of gas. Railway
construction is being actively discussed, to open a way to Persian
Gulf and Central Asian states for Armenia. A possibility of Turkmen
gas supplies in case of lengthening of Iran-Armenia gas pipeline is
being studied. The construction of the third electricity transmission
line from Iran to Armenia has already started. The project will be
conducted on regional scale to involve Georgia, RusEnergy reported.
