RUSSIA NOT TO INTEND START NEW WAR WITH GEORGIA

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Russia does not intend to start new war with
Georgia, Vladimir Zakharov, head of the Center for Caucasus Studies
of the Moscow State Institute for International Relations told
a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. According to him, such opinions are
disseminated by committed to the West politicians. "Russia is not so
idle to start a new war with Georgia. The Russian leadership doesn't
have such plans and can't have," he stressed.

On June 29 strategic exercises "Caucasus 2009" will start in the South
part of Russia, as well as in Armenia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia. On
the eve of the large-scale exercises a number of experts from Russia
and other countries said, that they will become a prologue to a new
war with Georgia. According to British 'The Times', exercises on the
eve of the US president Barack Obama's visit to Russia is an obvious
demonstration of the failed attempts to join Georgia to NATO".

The same opinion was expressed by Andrey Illarionov, president of the
Institute of Economic Analysis, who said that the Russian-Georgian
war can be re-started after June 6. On that particular day the
"Caucasus -2009" exercises will be completed, and on that very day
the US president will arrive in Moscow. The former advisor to the
RF president Mr. Illarionov says, that Russia's behavior aimed at
withdrawing from the conflict zone OSCE and UN observation missions, as
well as more frequent terrorist acts testify this opinion. According to
Andrey Illarionov, the main purpose of the possible military campaign
is elimination of Georgia as a sovereign state and its dissolution
    into several quasi-states, NG reports.
