Vic Darchinyan to part ways with Gary Shaw for Golden Boy?
    June 26, 6:10 PM

WBC/WBA/IBF Super Flyweight Champion, "The Raging Bull" Vic Darchinyan
who is moving up in weight against Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko on July
11 for the IBF bantamweight belt at the Bank Atlantic Center in
Sunrise, Florida is down to his last fight under his current contract
with promoter Gary Shaw. After his fight against Agbeko, Darchinyan
can opt to sign with a different promoter and leave Gray Shaw
    Promotions.

Although it's unlikely that Gary Shaw will let go of Darchinyan
without giving a fight, my sources have indicated that Golden Boy
Promotions has expressed interest in signing Darchinyan. GBP has the
power and money to entice the Armenian-born slugger from Australia and
a move with Golden Boy will also put Darchinyan on HBO.

Shaw, who is still managing the likes of Rafael Marquez and Chad
Dawson and also used to manage Manny Pacquiao, will be in for the
fight of his life to try and re-sign Darchinyan, as "The Raging Bull"
who is now ranked in the top 10 Pound-for-Pound boxers in the world by
Golden Boy owned Ring Magazine, is considered a blue chip acquisition.

Another plus that can come out of Darchinyan moving out of Gary Shaw's
stable is the possibility of a rematch against the one person who has
put a blemish in Darchinyan's career, Nonito Donaire Jr. Shaw has been
quoted multiple times and has made it public that he would not allow
Donaire to fight his prized ward again.

But if Darchinyan, who is now aged 33 years-old, wants to land a big
contract with any promoter, he needs to take care of business on July
    11. Surely there will be a lot of eyes following this fight closely as
Darchinyan, with his cocky nature and devastating fists, has polarized
the sport from fans, to his opponents and promoters alike.

The fight will be televised live on SHOWTIME® (9 p.m. ET/PT, delayed
on the west coast) and is also co-promoted by Don King Promotions.
