SALES OF FOODSTUFFS IN GROCERY DEPARTMENT OF STAR SUPERMARKETS DOUBLE

ArmInfo. The sales of foodstuffs in the grocery department of the
large network of STAR supermarkets have doubled while the total
growth of sales in the network amounted to 10%, STAR press-service
told ArmInfo. Proceeding from this, one may come to a conclusion that
the population intends to buy only certain kinds of commodities for
future use, particularly, consumers buy granulated sugar, butter,
flour and cereals, the source says.
"The March shock in the currency market of Armenia has changed the
structure of our sales. As regards the price boost, the enumerated
products are not produced in Armenia, therefore their price indexing
is obvious. However, at present only sugar and imported butter have
risen in price in our network, and the price growth ranges from 10%
to 12%. As we promised, all our efforts will aim to keep prices down,
and we are ready to inform the public about our steps",- Executive
Director of STAR Vahan Kerobyan said.
To recall, the STAR network number 12 supermarkets, one of them
in Hrazdan.
