THE NA SPEAKER RECEIVES UAE MINISTER OF FOREIGN TRADE

YEREVAN, MARCH 5, ARMENPRESS: Speaker of Armenian parliament Hovik
Abrahamian received today the delegation headed by the Minister of
Foreign Trade of United Arab Emirates Sheykha Lubna bint Khaled
al-Kasimi. Armenian Economy Minister Nerses Yeritsian, Armenian
Ambassador to UAE Vahagn Melikian and other officials were also
present at the meeting.
NA Public relations department told Armenpress that greeting the guest
the NA speaker expressed confidence that the visit of the Minister
to Armenia will contribute to the development and consolidation of
Armenia-UAE friendly relations and will have a practical result.
NA Speaker noted that Armenia highly assesses the established
cooperation and stated that the relations between Armenia and UAE
in different spheres have a stable progress. Mr. Abrahamian stressed
the importance of development of inter-parliamentary cooperation and
noted that it stays back from the level of trade-economic relations in
this context stressing the importance of promotion of mutual visits
of inter-parliamentary delegations which will contribute to the
exchange of experience and collaborative working out of professional
information.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, Mrs. Sheykha Lubna bint
Khaled al-Kasimi stressed the importance of further development of
Armenia-UAE cooperation, increasing of trade turnover and volumes of
investments between the two states and importance of implementation
of new programs of cooperation.
Highly assessing the present level of trade economic relations the
NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamian noted the renovation of infrastructure
system of "Haghartsin" monastic complex as one of the most important
achievements of the cooperation, for which the governor of Sharzha
Emirate Sheykh Sultan bin Muhammad al Kasimi donated 5 million dollars
as well as 10 million dollars of crediting of Armenian water economy
by the authorities of Abu Dhabi Development fund.
During the meeting other issues of mutual interest have also been
discussed.
