Reports about prime minister Sargsian's resignation untrue - official
YEREVAN March 10
Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian did not file a letter of
resignation, Armenian Presidential press secretary Samvel Farmanian
told Interfax on Tuesday.
"The information that the prime minister and his team filed a letter
of resignation is false and untrue," Farmanian said.
Several Armenian media outlets, citing their own sources, said earlier
that the Armenian prime minister and the finance and economic
ministers filed letters of resignation. According to those reports,
the letters are currently being discussed at the highest governmental
level, and an official statement will follow shortly.
The prime minister's upcoming resignation has been the subject of
rumors for several days now.
The Armenian prime minister's press secretary, Diana Mnatsakanian,
told Interfax earlier that Sargsian is not planning to resign.
"The prime minister is not going to resign. He said: "Not a chance","
the press secretary said.
