ArmInfo. NATO is interested in continuation and promotion of the
relations with Armenia. Moreover, it is open for all the states ready
for any type of cooperation, US Ambassador to Armenia Marie L.
Yovanovitch said at the opening of the seminar 'South-Caucasian Youth
Forum: 60th Anniversary of NATO: New Start' in Yerevan Friday.
Development of Armenia-NATO cooperation will make it possible for
Armenia to become a party to the discussions on how to counteract
global challenges, which will increase its role in international
security system, the Ambassador said.
Ambassador Yovanovitch said the cooperation of Armenia and NATO in
reforming the Armed Forces will make Armenia not only 'consumer' but
also 'provider' of international security. For his part, British
Ambassador to Armenia Charles Lonsdale said the relations of Armenia
and NATO are effective and constructive. The cooperation of Armenia and
NATO embraces a broad spectrum of sectors and will surely develop and
strengthen in future. The Ambassador came out for raising public
awareness of NATO to get rid of the exiting stereotypes. The
cooperation of Armenia and NATO is based on the Armenian-NATO
Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) signed in December 2005.
