Will he meet with parties out of parliament?
[07:16 pm] 12 March, 2009
Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met today with members of the
`Heritage' faction. Among participants of the meeting was Head of the
NA Standing Committee on Finance, Credit and Budgetary Issues Gagik
Minasyan.
Minasyan informed `A1+' that there is a need for consultations with
political parties in a time when the country is in an economic crisis
due to the global financial/economic downturn.
The Armenian PM started his meetings with members of the Board of the
Republican Party of Armenia, followed by meetings with members of the
`Prosperous Armenia', ARF and `Country of Law' factions and finally
the `Heritage' faction.
`During the meeting members of the factions were presented with the
measures being taken by the government to mitigate the effects of the
crisis and perspectives for the economic policy. During all meetings
we discussed issues for more effective implementation of measures, as
well as the proposal to engage conjunct forces to overcome the
crisis,' said Gagik Minasyan. Minasyan adds that the meetings are
productive in that the Prime Minister hears what the political parties
have to say and the political parties get to hear about the problems
facing the country from the Prime Minister himself.
Head of the `Heritage' faction Armen Martirosyan told `A1+' that the
anti-corruption programs are not enough.
`We can't reach success without eradicating the monopolistic,
oligarchic and criminal regime. Only after the eradication of this
regime may we expect positive results,' said Armen Martirosyan.
