ARF DASHNAKTSUTYUN WILL AGAIN BE OPPOSITION

On March 20, during parliamentary briefings, the secretary of the ARF
Dashnaktsutyun parliamentary faction Artyusha Shahbazyan stated that
at the Yerevan Council election the ARF Dashnaktsutyun will point out
the current problems existing in the capital and if the government
is to blame for them, the Dashnaktsutyun will announce it. He said
that during the last 1, 5 year when they constituent a part of the
government, it has tried to preserve its independence and if it is
necessary they express opinions which disagree with those of the
government. This was Artyusha Shahbazyan's answer to the question
whether the ARF Dashnaktsutyun will be opposition at the Yerevan
Mayor Election as it was at the presidential election.
Shahbazyan announced that the ticket of the party is not known
yet; the information that it is headed by Artsvik Minasyan is not
true. Shahbazyan said that Minasyan is one of their main candidates but
there are problems concerning his documents as he is registered in the
Armavir region but has been living in Yerevan since 1994. Shahbazyan
stated that this question will be solved in the court as it is up to
the court to decide it.
