ARMENIAN PREMIER DISCUSS FURTHER COOPERATION WITH WB REPRESENTATIVES

YEREVAN, March 25. /ARKA/. Armenian Premier Tigran Sargsyan received
World Bank (WB) Executive Director Rudolf Jan Treffers representing
Armenia in Dutch group, the government press service reported.
The sides discussed the further development prospects under global
financial and economic crisis.
The Premier expressed gratitude to Treffers for his productive work in
representing Armenia in the WB and voiced hope that the WB-implemented
programs on development of small and medium business and settlement
of social problems will continue helping overcome the world crisis
effects, the press service reported.
Sargsyan pointed out that the crisis creates new opportunities for
more intense reformation, consolidation of internal capacities and
establishment of competitive fields.
Armenia has certain potential in technologies, agriculture, chemical
and mining industries that can be developed through assistance of
the WB.
Since 1992, the World Bank extended loans for a total of $1.162bln
to Armenia.
