IRAN-ARMENIA GAS PIPELINE COMPLETED

TEHRAN (FNA)- An Armenian official said the construction of
Iran-Armenia gas pipeline is completed.
An spokesman for Armenia's ministry of energy and natural resources
said the pipeline was ready for use.
Armenia is ready to buy the gas it needed from Iran, the Islamic
republic news agency quoted him as saying.
The pipeline project, which was constructed in two phases, was
inaugurated in the Iranian section last year by the presidents of
the two countries. 40 kms of the 140-kilometer pipeline run in the
Armenian territory up to the capital Yerevan.
The pipeline has the capacity of carrying 10 million cubic meters of
gas per day.
According to an earlier agreement, Iran is to provide 1,100 million
cubic meters of gas to Armenia annually.
The figure is expected to rise to 2,300 cubic meters by 2019.
