ARMENIAN PRIME MINISTER TASKS TO WORK OUT A NEW ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE PRESERVATION OF HISTORICAL-CULTURAL HERITAGE
ARMENPRESS
March 26, 2009
YEREVAN, MARCH 26, ARMENPRESS: During today's outgoing session of
the Armenian government with the decision of the government Prime
Minister Tigran Sargsian tasked to study and present a suggestion
on what kind of additional subjects must be inputted in the school
programs so that a new attitude towards the historical-cultural values
be formed among the pupils.
According to T. Sargsian the attitude of our citizens towards the
historical-cultural values is not satisfactory. In this respect the
Armenian Education and Science and Culture Ministries have much to do.
He said new approaches are necessary in the educational
programs. Organization of such courses must be combined with
familiarizing visits to historical-cultural places, which will also
contribute to the ecological upbringing of children. The situation in
historical-cultural places is not satisfactory, therefore the prime
minister stressed that an "aggressive" ideology is needed to change
this attitude.
In response to this the Armenian Culture Minister Hasmik Poghosian
noted that such a cognitive pilot program is already implemented in
Lori province.
It will probably be spread also in other provinces. According to the
Culture Minister the issues of preservation of historical-cultural
heritage in the republic have rather an acute character, nevertheless
they are possible to be solved if necessary events are conducted with
collaborative efforts.
