CJSC SOUTH-CAUCASIAN RAILWAY KEY TOPIC OF AGENDA OF RUSSIAN-ARMENIAN INTERPARLIAMENTARY COMMISSION FOR COOPERATION

ArmInfo. Interparliamentary Commission for Cooperation of the Russian
Federal Assembly and Armenian National Assembly met in Moscow on
March 26.
Director General of the CJSC South-Caucasian Railway (SCR) Shevket
Shaydullin proposed setting up a Special Group at the Commission to
fulfill the Contract on Concession of the Armenian Railway by the
CJSC SCR.
Reporting on the activity of the company and presenting the plans
for the nearest future, Shevket Shaydullin said: 'We position
ourselves not only as an investment company. Our mission is to
establish a nation-wide company, upgrade the efficiency and financial
sustainability, improve services, increase capacity, integrate into
Euro-Asian transport and logistic system.
With such a mission we need cooperation with state agencies. So,
I proposes the Interparliamentary Commission to set up a group to
control over the fulfillment of the Concession agreement'.
Shevket Shaydullin submitted the main points of the Concession
Agreement, connected with the investment programme of the company,
its tariff policy, restoration of infrastructure and rolling-stock.
He presented financial model of the company for 2008-2012,
the budget of revenues and expenses for 2008-2009, the scheduled
introduction of the main funds, etc. For their part, representatives
of Inter-parliamentary commission headed by Nikolay ryzhkov and Aram
Safaryan, said they are ready to assist in the matter of fulfillment
of the Concession Agreement.
CJSC "South Caucasus Railway" is 100% subsidiary of OJSC "Russian
Railways".
