ArmInfo. Regular OSCE monitoring was held at the line of contact
between the armed forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan. As ArmInfo
correspondent reported, the monitoring was held in the direction of
Berkaber village of Tavush region of Armenia, at Ijevan-Gazakh line
of contact.
Personal representative of the OSCE chairman-in-office Andrzej
Kasprzyk and his field assistant Valdimir Chuntulov took part in the
monitoring from the Armenian side and field assistants Imre Palatinus,
Irje Aberle and Peter Key - from the Azerbaijani side.
The monitoring was held near the Berkaber (Jogaz) basin at 11:49 AM
and visual contact between the groups was set at a distance 1500m. No
cease-fire regime breaking was fixed during the monitoring.
To note, during the monitoring local Azerbaijani commander had a
telephone talk with an Armenian commander and was trying to blame
the Armenian party for breaking of the cease-fire regime and firing
at civilians. In reply Armenian commander offered his Azerbaijani
counterpart to meet immediately to discuss all the urgent problems
but the Azerbaijani party refused saying their top leadership should
adopt the decision for such a meeting.
