NO AMNESTY

Today, the deputy president of the Armenian Republican party Razmik
Zohrabyan stated that in accordance with the amendments to the Articles
225 and 300 of the Armenian Crime Code, some of the detainees charged
in "the case of seven" may be released. He said that he spoke to the
speaker of the National Assemble Hovik Abrahamyan in this regard who
assured that discussions in this connection will be launched with
the parliamentary factions.
Razmik Zohrabyan, who was considered a political prisoner in the Soviet
times, stated that some of the detainees of the "7 case" will fall
under Article 301, which supposes fairs, or a three-year arrest, or
deprivation of freedom for three years. The former political prisoner
stated that no one of the detainees in this case will be amnestied,
because "amnesty is granted to those who realized their mistakes"
Remind, that on these days, the PACE monitoring group will discuss
the process of accomplishment of the PACE resolutions by Armenia.
