Baku. Ramil Mammadli - APA. "Field assistants to the Personal
Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office held 9 monitoring
over the first four months of 2009. Armenian military units violated
ceasefire for 236 times in that period. The ceasefire regime was
violated mostly in the direction of the regions of Aghdam, Khojavand,
Goranboy, Tartar, Gazakh and Tovuz. The territory of these regions
were fired by the Armenians almost every day", press officer of the
Defense Minister Eldar Safarov said at a press conference on Friday,
APA reports. He said Armenians had more losses during the short
confrontations in the line of contact. "There are no large-scale
operations in the line of contact, but the position battles are always
taking place".
Safarov spoke about the changes of call-up procedures and said the
military commissariats were not discontinued. "According to the
legislation, military commissariats are the local administrative
organizations of Defense Ministry. Simply, by the Defense Minister's
order the call-up procedures were commissioned to the Organizing and
Mobilizing Office of the Defense Ministry. The military commissariats
will provide medical examinations, census and deferment rights of the
draftees". The ministry spokesman said the Defense Ministry knew the
number of soldiers the military units need and deployed them according
to it".
