SARKISIAN: COOPERATION WITH IRAN VITAL FOR STABILITY IN CAUCASUS

Moscow, May 15, IRNA - Armenian President Serzh Sarkisian in a
meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Yerevan Ali Saqqaeian on Thursday
said that cooperation with Iran is important for strengthening peace
and stability in the Caucasus region.
The president also called for prompt implementation of economic
agreements between Tehran and Yerevan.
Iran's envoy, for his part, presented a report on final stage of gas
flow in the constructed pipeline between the two countries and called
for boosting cooperation, especially on economic infra-structure,
including railway and road transportation network.
In the meeting, regional issues, normalization of ties between Turkey
and Armenia, peaceful settlement of Karabakh dispute and the latest
developments in this concern were discussed, too.
Iran-Armenia relations have increasingly grown in the recent years
and the two countries have close cooperation in economic, political,
energy and transportation fields.
