/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The damaged part of Nairit CJSC can be repaired
within a month's period, Energy Minister Armen Movsisyan said, as
quoted by a PanARMENIAN.Net correspondent. "Specialists assure us
that routine work in damaged sector can be resumed within a month,"
RA Energy Minister noted, adding that repairs will cost about $150
thousand which will be allocated through company resources and
shareholders' investments.
Mr. Movsisyan also added that the causes will be identified only
after carrying out relevant work. As a possible cause, he pointed
out to technical malfunctioning. "After the causes are identified,
the plant will resume its usual routine."
Yesterday, around 6.40 p.m. local time, two explosions occurred in
Nairit rubber plant. Then fire erupted. 15 minutes later, 9 fire
brigades arrived in the scene of action.
As a result of damage in chloroprene department, one absorption
tower burned.
Yesterday, a council of professionals was formed for identifying
causes and estimating consequences.
The damage caused does not have an environmental impact, as no harmful
substances were discharged into atmosphere.
Two criminal cases have been filed. Causes still remain unclear.
