Arminfo. Representative of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia
Samvel Nikoyan has been nominated to the post of vice-speaker of
Armenian parliament. The post became vacant after resignation of
Hrayr Karapetyan, member of ARF Dashnaktiutyun, which left the ruling
coalition as a protest against the roadmap between foreign ministries
of Armenia and Turkey.
Asked by deputy of the parliament from ARFD Vahan Hovannisyan how
the future vice-speaker is going to gain his principles of earlier
he was a student of Marxism-Leninism University, but later became
a representative of the RPA, which has absolutely different views,
Samvel Nikoyan recalled he used to be a student of Polytechnic
Institute after Karl Marx. Representative of the opposition Heritage
party Lasira Alaverdyan supported Hovannisyan's question and said
that in the parliament they are often guided not by the ideological
principles but by being a member of one and the same group. She
reminded the deputies of the fact that some deputies do not attend the
parliament session and attend them to vote for themselves and their
colleagues. Speaker of the parliament Hovik Abrahamyan called deputies
to stop making populist statements and to mention specific facts.
