ARA VARDANIAN APPOINTED DIRECTOR OF HAYASTAN ALL ARMENIAN FUND'S EXECUTIVE BOARD

YEREVAN, MAY 18, NOYAN TAPAN. The proposal of appointing Ara Vardanian
Director of Hayastan All Armenian Fund's Executive Board was approved
at the Fund Board of Trustees' 18th sitting held on May 18. He was
Acting Director of Fund's Executive Board before.
The Board also approved the proposal of making amendments to Fund's
Regulations. As a result of Regulations' amendments, in particular,
the post of Fund Board of Trustees Vice-Chairman was established. The
candidature of former NKR President, RA Ambassador for Special
Errands Arkady Ghukasian was approved on that post. RA Minister of
Diaspora Hranush Hakosian was officially involved in the Fund Board
of Trustees. Russian-based entrepreneur Samvel Karapetian was also
involved in it. In 2008 he made the biggest donation, that of 15m
dollars to new Artsakh hospital.
The Board also endorsed its new members ex officio: RA National
Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamian, CBA Chairman Artur Javadian,
Chairman of State Revenue Committee attached to RA government Gagik
Khachatrian. Luis Simon Manukian was withdrawn from Board presidency
at her request, due to being busy. She was given the title of Honorary
Member of Board of Trustees.
Fund's certificates were also given to big donators having provided
assistance to Hayastan All Armenian programs: certificates of
honorary member having donated more than 1m dollars were given to
Samvel Karapetian (he donated 15m dollars), Sergey Hambardzumian
(3.4m dollars), Gagik Tsarukian (2m dollars), Seyran Karapetian
(1m dollars), VivaCell - MTS company (1m dollars), Genady Stepanian
(1m dollars), Tezik Khachatrian (1m dollars), Armrosgazprom company
(1.3m dollars). A certificate of benefactor member was given to the
Karabakh Telecom company having donated 500 thousand dollars, and
assistant member's certificates were given to people having donated
betwen 250 000 to 500 000 dollars, Mikayel Baghdasarov (300 thousand
dollars), Samvel Alexanian (200 thousand dollars).
RA President Serzh Sargsyan, who is officially the Chairman of the
Fund Board of Trustees, said that within the framework of the issue
On Problems of All Armenian Significance included in the agenda
he will present the current developments in the Armenian-Turkish
relations and Nagorno Karabakh settlement negotiations, as well as
"some details from the latest events" to Board members.
