WHAT LOUIS SIMON MANOOGIAN DOES NOT LIKE

Louis Simon Manoogian left bureau of the board of trustees of the
All-Armenian Fund Armenia reasoning her decision by busyness. The
renowned American benefactor became the honorable member of the Board
of trustees; in addition, the session was convened in her absence.
During 17 years, Louis Simon Manoogian was one of the most active
benefactors of the fund. Schools, hospitals, houses are build,
water pipes and gas pipelines are laid with her assistance. During
the annual marathons, Ms. Manukyan beneficed millions of dollars. The
first marathon, which passed without the participation of Louis Simon
Manoogian , was that of the 2008. Of course a record sum of money was
collected - 35 million, but the absence of Louis Simon Manoogian ,
from the list of the benefactors Hrayr Ohanyan and Albert Boyajyan
created grounds to think that everything in this life does not last for
ever. Sure, it should be found out in what direction the history goes.
What made Louis Simon Manoogian leave the presidium of the board of
trustees? It is evident that it is not the busyness to make her leave
it. She cannot be so busy to be unable to find a minute to allocate
the traditional million to the fund of the TV marathon. This means
that the problem is completely different. Most likely, it does not
even concern the politics of the Armenian government, which initiated
the Armenian and Turkish relations, though Alek Manukyan's daughter
would hardly like this idea.
Possibly, Ms. Manukyan does not like the atmosphere, where she
appeared, after the February 2008, when the government changed. It
is not ruled out that she does not like the methods, with the help of
which, the people in power work trying to keep the government. Maybe,
she does not like the level of justice, freedom, equality. Ms. Luiz
is rather demanding. Seven years ago, the Engels Street (now
Alek Maunukyan) was completely reconstructed by her means. At
first sight, everything seemed good, but when Ms. Manukyan came to
participate in the opening ceremony of the street, she found a lot
of defects, deceptions and abuse. The constructers had to correct
their mistakes. Maybe, now it became more difficult for her to make
someone correct their mistakes. Or these "mistakes" and abuse become
a mode of life.
The Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan now holds the post of Louis
Simon Manoogian, and this creates grounds to make conclusions about
some transformations in the relations of Armenia and the Diaspora
and about the friends of the current Armenia government.
Remind that the Armenia fund was established in 1992 by the decision
of Levon Ter-Petrosyan. The head of the fund is the president of
Armenia, the trustees are the Prime Minister of Armenia, the Head of
the National Assembly, the Chair of the Central Bank, the President
and the Prime Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh,
representatives of all the religious groups, including the Armenian
Catholicos, the head of the Cilician House, representatives of the
protestant and catholic churches of Armenia. The heads of the three
Armenian parties, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, Ramkavar Azatakan, and Hnchakyan
are always represented there. The three major charitable organization
of the Diaspora- All-Armenian Charitable Fund (the president of the
Fund represents it- Perj Sedrakyan), Armenian Assembly of America
(Hrayr Ohanyan) and the Armenian Relief Society (Maro Minasyan),
as well as bright individuals of the Armenian Diaspora - Charles
Aznavour, Eduardo Ernekyan. Louis Simon Manoogian, Vardan Grigoryan,
Tigran Izmairlyan, Albert Bojajyan and others.
The individuals and the organizations, who have donated much
during the TV Marathon of 2008, also become members of the Board of
Trustees. Alongside with the Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan,
who donated 15 million dollars, big donation were also made by
VivaCell-MTS, Mikael Vardanyan, Samvel Aleksanyan, Norik Petrosyan,
Barsegh Beglaryan, Aram Kocharyan, Khachik Manukyan, Karapet Aleksanyan
and others.
