The "Professionals" Public Policy Institute has initiated elaboration
of the "Diplomacy strategies of Armenia" project. According to
Public Policy Institute's experts, National security strategy and
Armenia's military doctrine , elaborated 2 years ago, when there was
an absolutely different situation in the region and in the world,
today require changes and improvement.
According to Public Policy Institute's estimations, the current
National security strategy do not correspond to calls of the times
and new challenges Armenia faces today. "The essence of the proposed
project is to search and select various differently oriented
professional decisions on a wide range of issues, conditioning
country's tactic steps based on the challenges of the new times,
said Hovhannes Nokoghosyan, director of the Public Policy Institute,
to a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.
The program is supposed to be carried out in four phases, 3 month-long
each. The first phase anticipates closed discussions and round tables,
outcomes of which will be brought up for public discussion. The final
option of the proposals will be presented in Yerevan and Stepanakert.
The "Professionals" Public Policy Institute intends to establish a
neutral and depoliticized group of young specialists ready to cooperate
with all other interested organizations and independent experts.
