/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Armenia holds its positions firms in Karabakh
settlement talks, President Serzh Sargsyan said during the meeting
with his Croatian colleague Stefan Mesich. The most important thing,
according to the President, is Karabakh status and the nation's
right to self-determination. "We are ready to proceed with talks,
and the next meeting with Azeri President will very probably take
place in St. Petersburg in the nearest future. And I don't think
anyone will thereafter say that Armenia waives its positions," the
President stressed.
Stefan Mesich in his turn underlined that military settlement of
old conflicts does lead to anything good. He brought the example of
Croatia which gained independence after Yugoslavia's collapse. "War
in Yugoslavia lasted long. We lost a lot of people, but the borders
remained unchanged. The best way to achieve conflict settlement is
to conduct talks," Mesich said.
