The EBU will make a decision on what kind of sanctions to impose
with regards to TVE failing to show the Second Semifinal Live and
Azerbaijan's blockage of the Armenian song.
Details are still sketchy on whether Azerbaijan agreed to block the
phone lines which were available for people to vote for the Armenian
song and also for blocking the performance of the song altogether. For
it's part Azerbaijan claims that there were technical difficulties at
precisely the time when Armenia took to the stage. This meant that
although the song could be heard the image offered was not that of
the Armenian representative. Matters were brought to a head by the
Armenian Community who claim that ever since Azerbaijan have taken part
in Eurovision, they have never given a single vote to Armenia. This
is mostly drawn to political matters regarding a land dispute.
Regarding TVE, the EBU are more likely to favour an economic penalty
for the chaos caused over the Second Semifinal although TVE claim
that it was not shown because of technical difficulties.
