/PanARMENIAN.Net/ All French political parties call on Turkey to
recognize Armenian Genocide, independent journalist Jean Ekiyan told
a PanARMENIAN.Net correspondent.
Right-wing parties are against Turkey's EU process, but they promise
privileged partnership in case the country provides solution to
national minority's problems and the Armenian Issue.
According Alexander Adler, historian, journalist and expert on Turkish
issues, "Turkey cannot be considered exemplary democratic state unless
it recognizes the Armenian Genocide."
As shown by polls conducted by Sofres centre, 37% of French people
are strongly against Turkey's EU process, and 28% find that the
country should speed up its efforts towards EU membership; 25% of
respondents did not give any answer. The polls were mainly conducted
among young people.
