CURRENT POTENTIAL PERMITS TO DEVELOP ARMENIAN-NORWEGIAN BILATERAL ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL RELATIONS

The Armenian people is grateful for Norway for the humanitarian aid
provided after the 1988 destructive earthquake. RA NA Speaker Hovik
Abrahamian stated on May 26, receiving newly appointed Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Norway to Armenia Knut Houg
(residence Moscow).
Mentioning Fridtjof Nansen's contribution to protection of rights of
Armenian refugees deprived of their homeland after the 1915 Armenian
Genocide, the interlocutors agreed that Armenian-Norwegian friendly
relations have a rich history. The sides held the same opinion that
the current potential permits to develop bilateral economic and
cultural contacts.
According to the report of the RA NA Public Relations Department,
during the talk they touched upon regional security and cooperation
between Armenia and Norway at international organizations.
