DEPUTY OF ARMENIAN PARLIAMENT DISPROVES FALSE INFORMATION BY AN AZERBAIJANI AT NATO PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY SESSION

Deputy of Armenian National Assembly from the Heritage party faction
Stepa Safaryan and member of Foreign Relations Department of the
parliament Izabella Kazaryan took part in the spring session of NATO
PA held in Oslo on 23-26 May.
As press-service of the Heritage party told ArmInfo, over the sitting
of Defence and Security commission a member of the Azerbaijani
delegation Malagat Ibragimkzi made a slanderous statement regarding
Armenia, calling it an aggressor which had occupied 20% of Azerbaijani
territory. For his part, Stepa Safaryan was forced to start his speech
replying to the slander of his Azerbaijani counterpart. 'Actually, I
understand that my Azerbaijani counterparts are forced to fulfill the
orders of the top officials of their country, using any opportunity
to wrench reality. Struggle of Nagornyy Karabakh is a tragic history
of the failed attempt of aggression and occupation initiated by
Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan was trying to occupy Karabakh by means of war,
but the attempt was stopped by effective defence of the Armenian
party. And today my Azerbaijani counterpart is trying to distort this
fact', - he said.
After Safaryan's speech Malagat Ibragimkzi nervously left the
session hall.
