EX-PRESIDENT OF ARMENIA MAY ENTER BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 'SYSTEM' JSFC

ArmInfo. Ex-President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan may become an
independent Director of "System" JSFC. R. Kocahrayn may contribute
to development of JSFC business in Armenia where the Holding has
a WiMAX-operator, belonging to Comstar, and a mobile operator
'K-Telecom' controlled by another subsidiary of the System -
MTS. Yesterday, "System" JSFC announced about nomination of 13
members to the Company's Board of Directors to be approved at the
General Shareholders meeting on June 27, 2009. Two candidates have
been nominated as independent directors - Rajiv Mehrotra and Robert
Kocharyan. The first one founded Shyam Group of India Indian Company
which owns a mobile operator Sistema Shyam TeleServices jointly with
"System" JSFC, 'Kommersant' reported.
