YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 3, NOYAN TAPAN. Newly appointed Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to RA Masaharu Kohno
(residence Moscow) handed his credentials to RA President Serzh
Sargsyan on November 2. The Ambassador assured that he will do his
utmost for further development of bilateral relations.
S. Sargsyan, in his turn, mentioned that there is still much work to
do in the issue of development of bilateral economic relations.
Thanking the government of Japan for assistance provided to Armenia
and for supporting development programs he mentioned: "The grants,
technical assistance and privileged credits provided by the Japanese
government are of too much importance for us. I attach special
importance and think that it is a success, the modernization program
of Yerevan TPP, which will give Armenian economy a possibility to
develop, will also weaken social tension to some extent."
According to RA President's Press Office, the sides agreed that the
two countries have a great potential of economic cooperation, which
should be used completely.
The interlocutors also exchanged thoughts over normalization of
Armenia-Turkey relations. The Ambassador said that the Japanese
government completely supports that process.
