NEW CENTRE ON OTTOMAN ARCHIVES WILL BE OPENED IN ISTANBUL

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Istanbul will be the venue for a new center on
Ottoman archives. Ottoman archives, currently placed in four different
locations, will be collected together at the "Ottoman Archive Center"
in Kagithane district of Istanbul, said Directorate General of State
Archives on Tuesday. The new center will have around 100 million
documents and 370,000 note-books.
The center will include an administrative building, a research hall
for 350 scholars, research institute, library, museum, a special
unit for digital archives, social facilities and congress hall for
2,500 people. The new center will be opened to the public in 2012,
reported Anatolian News Agency.
