TURKEY-BASED ARMENIAN INTELLECTUAL SEVAN NSHANIAN RECEIVES LETTERS WITH THREATS

ISTANBUL, NOVEMBER 9, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. Sevan Nshanian
known in Turkey for his books and articles published in the Taraf
newspaper has reported at a recent press conference that since October
29 he has received more than 400 death threats via Internet. According
to Marmara, he is too much concerned with the threats. Sevan Nshanian
said in that connection: "What happened to Hrant Dink can also happen
to me. People have freedom to express their opinion but the letters
with death threats I receive prove that those freedoms are buried
in oblivion."
The newspaper also reported that journalist and intellectual Sevan
Nshanian applied to Prosecutor's Office with a lawsuit of receiving
death threats.
