RA NA SPEAKER HOVIK ABRAHAMIAN IN IRAN ON OFFICIAL VISIT

TEHRAN, SEPTEMBER 30, NOYAN TAPAN. RA National Assembly Speaker Hovik
Abrahamian's official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI)
started on September 29. In the midday, at Mehrabad airport, first
Vice-Speaker of IRI parliament Seyyed Mohammad Hasan Abutorabifad met
the delegation led by the RA NA Speaker. H. Abrahamian had a short
talk with him at airport's hall for guests of honor.
Then the delegation led by the RA NA Speaker visited IRI parliament
where H. Abrahamian met with IRI parliament Speaker Ali Larijani.
At the meeting the sides discussed the agreements reached between
the two countries' Presidents during RA President Serzh Sargsyan's
official visit to Iran and issues of implementation of the programs
they had outlined. The interlocutors held the same opinion that
Armenian-Iranian strong and friendly relations are in the two
countries' long-term strategic interests.
In that context they discussed region's strategic situation. During
the meeting the interlocutors reached an agreement to deepen
interparliamentary cooperation between RA and IRI.
Then the delegation led by H. Abrahamian visited IRI Supreme National
Security Council where it met with Council Secretary Sayid Jalili.
According to a report by the RA NA Public Relations Department, in the
evening the same day the delegation led by H. Abrahamian visited the RA
Embassy in IRI where it met with Armenian diplomats working in Tehran.
