DIGITEC 2009 EXHIBITION TO BE HELD IN YEREVAN ON OCTOBER 2-4

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 1, NOYAN TAPAN. The Union of IT Enterprises (UITE)
and the Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF) will hold the 5th annual
international exhibition DigiTec 2009 at Karen Demirchian Sports and
Concert Complex in Yerevan on October 2-4, CEO of UITE Karen Vardanian
said at the October 1 press conference.
The exhibition aims to create a business climate for organizations,
business consumers and society engaged in the information,
communication and high-tech sector, promote the expansion
of international links and the establishment of new business
relations. "The exhibition is going to be comprehensive and
interesting. The Armenian and foreign companies will display their
products and services at separate pavilions," K. Vardanian said.
According to EIF Director Bagrat Yengibarian, several pavilions
will be set up to present the projects being implemented in the IT
industry with the assistance of the Armenian government, including
such programs as "Computer for Everybody", "Ensuring the Internet
Coverage throughout Armenia", Gyumri Technopark's project, as well as
the latest electronic system-related solutions introduced in state
government bodies. B. Yengibarian said the exhibition allows to
present the development opportunities of Armenia's IT sector and the
achievements of recent period, adding that DigiTec plays a unique
role in the sector. Besides, in his words, the DigiTec has become
a place for foreign investors to make decisions as they come to the
exhibition not only as participants, but also as visitors to explore
the opportunities and potential of our IT sector.
More than 50 Armenian and foreign organizations are expected to
participate in the DigiTec 2009, including Ericsson which will present
its goods in Armenia for the first time. During DigiTec 2009, forums
and seminars will be held, and the results of ArmRobotics competition
will be summarized. The latest solutions for computer games will be
on display at an exhibition pavilion.
