President Serzh Sargsyan today received the delegation headed by the
President of the Belgian Senate, Armand de Decker.
Greeting the visit of the high guest to Armenia, President Sargsyan
said the Armenian-Belgian relations were normally developing in the
economic field, the sphere of parliamentary cooperation and on the
level of the dialogue between the Foreign Ministries.
Noting that serious developments are taking place in the
Armenian-Turkish relations, the President of the Belgian Senate
expressed his wish to listen to President Sargsyan's views on the
process.
"Our people can never forget the Genocide and its consequence," the
President said and continued: "It was hard to enter into relations
with Turkey, but on the other hand, we are neighbors and we have
to have relations. This is the reason why we initiated the process
of establishment of relations without preconditions. However,
establishing relations does not mean forgetting or questioning he
fact of the Armenian Genocide."
President Sargsyan presented our country's approaches on the current
stage of the negotiations on the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh
