Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been re-elected as the chair
of his ruling Justice & Development (AK) Party on Saturday, reports
Turkish news agency Anadolu Ajansi.
Erdogan won 1,362 votes of 1,363 AK Party delegates at the party
congress held in Ankara. One vote was invalid.
AK Party members also elected the members of the party's executive
boards. 17 members of AK Party's central decision-making and executive
board have changed. State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Bulent
Arinc, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, former ministers Huseyin
Celik and Kursad Tuzmen and former deputy chair of the party's
parliamentary group Salih Kupusuz have been elected new members of
the board, which is composed of 50 party members.
