/PanARMENIAN.Net/ In the framework of his Pan-Armenian tour,
RA President Serzh Sargsyan arrived in New York to meet with
representatives of the Armenian community.
"Armenia is normalizing relations with Turkey without preconditions. I
think we achieved a maximal result at the given moment," he said
adding that normalization of relations will contribute to peace and
stability in the region.
As to concerns that Armenian did not estimate all the consequences
of opening the border with Turkey, President Sargsyan said relevant
agencies have carried out a great deal of work.
"It's impossible to consider all risks but Armenia possesses mechanisms
essential to resolve emerging problems," he said.
RA President also emphasized that the Armenian Genocide issue can't
be discussed in the context of normalization of Armenian-Turkish
relations.
"The only thing we can discuss is how to help Turkish people be
more impartial about their past," he said, the leader's press office
reported.
