    "DEVELOPMENT OF A DEMAND-LED QUALITY INFRASTRUCTURE IN ARMENIA" SEMINAR IN YEREVAN

    Armenian-European Policy and Legal Advice Centre (AEPLAC) jointly
    with EU Advisory Group and German Institute, organize seminar on
    "of Metrology (PTB) on the request of the Ministry of Economy of
    Armenia Development of a Demand-led Quality Infrastructure in Armenia".

    Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, which envisages free
    access of Armenian products into EU, sets distinct standards to comply
    with in order to ensure the safety and quality of products. The main
    goal of the seminar is to create a coherent understanding of the reform
    needs in the sector in view of the future Deep and Comprehensive Free
    Trade Agreement with the EU.

    Participants of the seminar will get acquainted with the necessity
    to develop a quality Infrastructure in Armenia in accordance with
    international requirements as well as the reform needs in the
    field of metrology, accreditation, standardization, elaboration and
    implementation of technical regulations.

    The seminar to be held on October 7 will bring together decision
    makers in relevant governmental structures (Ministries of Economy,
    Agriculture, Health, and Environment), leading persons of the
    institutions of the Quality Infrastructure in Armenia (metrology,
    standardization, accreditation, market surveillance), representatives
    of leading testing laboratories, enterprises and entrepren eurial
    associations and chambers of commerce as well as academic community.

    Participants from donor organizations (World Bank, European Commission,
    GTZ, USAID etc.) will be present as well.
