Many of those who are following Serge Sargsyan's so-called pan-Armenian
tour, surprise at seeing the former NKR president Arkadi Ghukasyan
accompanying him in his tour. Those who get suspired have to be asked
near who they expected to see Arkadi Ghukasyan. These people are
likely to answer that Ghukasyan had to be near his compatriots from
Karabakh, live with them as the former president. But we understand,
Arkadi Ghukasyan, even being in tenure in Karabakh, did not live among
his compatriots even then, but he was 12 months a years in different
trips. How can we expect from him that after leaving his post of
president he would stay in Karabakh? If there was such a danger,
perhaps he would not leave his post.
In addition, Arkadi Ghukasyan is the Armenian Ambassador with Special
Assignments. So, he is fulfilling a special assignment near Serge
Sargsyan: listens who said what and how looked at Serge Sargsyan,
makes notes, and after shares with his impressions with Serge
Sargsyan. Since, Serge Sargsyan, holding a speech, is unable to
speak and to make notes of his surrounding at the same time. Arkadi
Ghukasyan is not traveling with Serge Sargsyan just for pleasure. This
does not mean that traveling with Serge Sargsyan is disgusting for
Arkadi Ghukasyan. Of course, it is pleasurable. But he is on work,
and that work is the reason of the trip.
In general, from this point Arkadi Ghukasyan is a Special Ambassador
and a particular tourist. He is traveling for work. The result,
as a rule, is never seen, but it is not Ghukasyan's fault. One has
to be blind not to see how his foreign trips promoted for example
the process of the recognition of the Karabakh independence. Sure,
Nicaragua and Venezuela have not yet recognized Karabakh, but it is
determined by the fact that the process was put forward and as to
more important countries, the process has not yet reached them. One
should only observe that Ghukasyan does not promote the process so
much to be found out in the end that he registered not the reaction
of the Armenian Diaspora in connection with the Armenia and Turkish
issue near Sargsyan, but say, the impressions of the member of the
commission of historian after its first session.
