BOTH ARMENIA AND DIASPORA CONCERNED OVER PROTOCOL SIGNING

issue, but Diaspora's opinion on bilateral ties differs from that of
Armenia," psychologist Karine Nalchadjyan told a joint news conference
with sociologist Aharon Adibekyan. Armenian Genocide, according to her,
should not be ascribed to Diaspora only, because Armenian population
also suffered the tragedy. However, Diaspora's more anxious attitude is
accounted for by the fact it is the direct result of Armenian Genocide.
Everybody is anxious about Armenian-Turkish process, psychologist
finds. Touching upon public opinion on Protocols, she distinguished
between the following 3 groups: people who are strongly against
re-establishment of any ties with Turkey, those who are for
rapprochement and those who take a neutral stance and are for
normalization process in case Protocols are amended.
