TURKEY INTENDS TO EXTERMINATE ARMENIAN NATION, SAYS JIRAYR SEFILYAN

Armenian Volunteers Union coordinator Jirayr Sefilyan spoke
on Armenian-Turkish relations today. According to the union's
representatives, Armenia must proceed from the following facts to
    establish diplomatic relations.

"Firstly, there are no Armenian-Turkish relations, but there is
Armenian-Turkish conflict; secondly, geographical vicinity does
not always determine good neighbourly relations. Yes, Turkey is
our neighbour, but that state is a state intending to exterminate
Armenia and Armenians. Without considering this fact, this truth,
we are putting at risk the Armenian nation's physical existence and
    its mental security," Sefilyan said.

Speaking on safeguards for preserving the physical existence of the
Armenian nation, Sefilyan said it consists of three important factors.

"The first factor is Armenian people's unity, which, unfortunately, we
lack today. I'm referring to pan-Armenian unity [Diaspora and those in
Armenia]. The second factor is the Armenian army, seeped in Armenian
values, which, I am convinced doesn't exist, either. And the third
factor is the Armenian homeland, those native territories which are
presently overseen by Armenians. Fortunately, this one factor exists,
and this entire process of Armenian-Turkish frenzy circles around
seven liberated regions of Nagorno-Karabakh. Our opponent realizes
very well that the only factor maintaining our people's resistance
are these very territories. If we cede these territories, we will
be putting the entire existence, statehood and physical existence of
our people at risk," Sefilyan added.
