THE RA AND THE RF PRESIDENTS' MEETING AGENDA WAS FULL

The President of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, had a
meeting with Russian President Dmitri Medvedev in Moscow. It is the
7th meeting of this year of the heads of the two countries.
Greeting the President of the Armenian Republic Dmitri Medvedev said:
"I am very happy to meet you. As we had planned we continue our
periodic and intensive dialogue, we meet and have relations in both
bilateral and multilateral formats. We met in Chisinau recently,
discussed the prospective of CIS and the present difficulties,
and then had a meeting concerning the NKR issue together with the
Azerbaijani President.
Today we have the opportunity to discuss both the bilateral relations
of our countries and issues concerning the international agenda and
regional problems.
Speaking about our relations and other issues we can say that it's
not so bad. Speaking about the humanitarian ties we can say that
you yourselves have a big contribution in the development of those
ties. You have been in Orenburg, you have visited Doni Rostov as far
as I know you are planning to visit also Kaliningrad.
We are very much touched that you are having meetings in the regions,
you associate with the Diaspora. I think all this is very useful for
our relations and such kind of ties, which have also regional nature,
also strengthen the Russian-Armenian dialogue. I greet you warmly. We
have now the opportunity to discuss all the questions."
The President Serzh Sargsyan has mentioned on his turn: "Thank you
for the warm words and the invitation. The trustful dialogue is the
stimulator of our relations. This type of non-formal meeting is a
good format for discussing the whole complex of our relations. The
work done during the last 2-3 years to my opinion allowed us to
come closer to new steps in the sphere of political and strategic,
economy and humanity.
On that concern I think that we have a big and reach agenda for
today. I wish to thank you for your p
I wish to thank the authorities of Russia and you personally for
the support in the development of the relations with the Turkish
Government. The presence of the Russian Foreign Minister on the
signing ceremony one more time stresses the fact that Russia tends
to see peace in the South Europe and stabile security.
I am happy for our today's meeting and think that this conversation
will have a big in put un the development process of our relations."
The two Presidents discussed trade and economic cooperation
development, strengthening cooperation between regions, military and
technical cooperation, and also the prospects for carrying out big
joint projects in the energy sector.
Mr. Medvedev and Mr. Sargsyan discussed issues concerning the
development of the commercial economic cooperation, deepening the
interregional cooperation for the implementation of projects in the
energy and military spheres and also exchanged views on dialogue
within the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC).
The Collective Security Treaty Organisation's work was also on
the agenda, including the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force in
connection with military exercises, Cooperation 2009, underway in
Kazakhstan, informs the Press Office of the President.
